QuestionAnswer
What does it do?Your agent reads a TikTok hashtag's total views and video count, then pulls its videos and lists the five most viewed.
Who is it for?Creators choosing a niche, and brands checking if a community is worth joining.
What do I connect?Nothing. It reads public data with ClawLink's own provider.
What does it cost?About $0.0035 of ClawLink credit per run. New accounts get $0.50 free.
Does it work?Yes. We ran it on 2026-10-03; the results are below.
Which agents?OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude, Codex, ChatGPT and any MCP client connected to ClawLink.

How do you try it?

  1. Set up ClawLink once. Add it to your agent from the install page. This job needs no connected app.
  2. Send this prompt to your agent. Click the card to copy it.

It works the same in OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude and Codex.

How does the agent do it?

The agent makes 2 calls through ClawLink. You do not pick the tools: the agent finds them by searching ClawLink, reads their input schema and runs them.

What happened when we ran it?

We sent this job through ClawLink on 2026-10-03. These are the real calls and what came back, not an example.

CallInput and resultTimeCost
tiktokdata_hashtag_detailbooktok0.7 s$0.0015
tiktokdata_hashtag_postsbooktok, 18 videos6.9 s$0.002

What the data showed:

  • #booktok had 555,652,222,556 views across 86,487,862 videos.
  • The five most viewed videos returned had 6.81M, 6.04M, 5.31M, 3.33M and 2.89M plays.
  • One of the 18 videos was flagged as an ad.

How do you write the prompt?

  • Leave out the #. The tools take "booktok", not "#booktok". Most agents strip it.
  • Compare two hashtags. "Compare #booktok and #bookreview" shows which niche is bigger.
  • Ask what the top videos share. Length, hook and format are more useful than the list.

What can go wrong?

  • Total views are lifetime. The view count covers every video ever tagged. It says nothing about this week.
  • One page of videos. The posts tool returns one page; ask for more pages for a fuller sample.
  • Two different view counts. The response carries an old stats block (0 videos, rounded views) and a newer statsV2 block with the real numbers. A good agent reads statsV2.
  • Top videos are not recent. The videos in our run were posted between January 2025 and September 2026, and one was an ad. Ask for recent posts only if that is what you need.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a TikTok account?

No. This job reads public TikTok data through ClawLink's own data provider, so there is nothing to connect. It runs on your ClawLink credit; every new account gets $0.50 of free credit on its first data call.

Can it tell me if a hashtag is growing?

Run it weekly and compare; the tool gives a total, not a trend line.

Does it work in every country?

Hashtag data is global.

Can it download the videos?

No, it returns links and stats.

How much does a full analysis cost?

Two calls, $0.0035. Each extra page of videos is $0.002.
