Connect work and personal Gmail to the same OpenClaw agent
Use multiple Gmail accounts with one agent by connecting a second account in the ClawLink dashboard and naming them Work and Personal.
· 3 min read
One OpenClaw agent can read and send from multiple Gmail accounts. Connect your work account, your personal account, or both, then tell the agent which one to use for each task.
First-time Gmail setup with OpenClaw requires connecting Gmail through ClawLink. This guide covers adding a second Gmail account after the first connection works.
Connect another Gmail account
In the ClawLink dashboard, find your existing Gmail connection and click Connect another account. The OAuth flow opens in your browser.
Sign in with the second Gmail account. If you are already signed in to Google with the wrong account, sign out first or use an incognito window.
Google shows the same consent screen as the first connection. The scopes and permissions are identical between accounts.
Same Google account trap
Reconnecting the same Google account adds nothing. If the consent flow shows the same email address you already connected, stop and use a different Google account.
ClawLink recognizes duplicate connections and displays the message "This is the Gmail account you already connected ([email]), so nothing new was added. To add a different one, sign out of Gmail first or pick another account, then try again."
Name your accounts
After both accounts connect, return to the Gmail connection in your dashboard. Each connection shows its email address.
Click the rename button next to each connection to give them descriptive names like "Work" and "Personal" so you can distinguish them when giving instructions to the agent.
One connection is marked as default. Agent commands without a specific account use the default connection.
Tell the agent which account to use
With both accounts connected, specify which one in your prompt:
- "Check my work email for anything urgent"
- "Send this from my personal Gmail account"
- "Draft a reply in my work email"
The agent reads each connection's name and passes the matching connection ID to route to the correct Gmail account. This is why naming your accounts clearly matters.
Without a specific account mentioned, the agent uses your default connection.
Set a different default
To change which account the agent uses by default, go to the Gmail connections in your dashboard and click Set default for the account you want as default.
The previous default becomes a secondary account. Only one Gmail connection can be default at a time.
Does ClawLink isolate work and personal data?
ClawLink does not isolate work and personal data inside the agent conversation. Both Gmail accounts appear in the same agent context. The separation happens only in which Google account receives the API calls.
If data isolation between accounts is required, use separate ClawLink accounts. Separate agent installations on one ClawLink account isolate nothing.
FAQ
Can I connect more than two Gmail accounts?
Yes. ClawLink supports multiple connections per integration. Follow the same "Connect another account" flow for each additional Gmail account.
Do both accounts need the same Gmail plan?
No. Mix personal Gmail accounts with Google Workspace accounts in the same agent. Note that a Google Workspace admin can block third-party app access, which would prevent ClawLink from connecting to that account.
Can I disconnect one account without affecting the other?
Yes. Each Gmail connection can be disconnected independently from the ClawLink dashboard. The remaining connections continue to work.
Why does my agent keep using the wrong account?
Check which connection is marked default in your dashboard. Agent commands without explicit account names use the default connection. Either set a different default or include the account name in your prompts.
Can I use this with other email providers?
This guide is Gmail-specific. ClawLink supports Outlook connections using the same multi-account pattern. Other providers depend on the available integrations.
